Shaun White supports a good cause and gets a haircut
The countdown for the Winter Olympic Games has started.
The countdown for the Winter Olympic Games has started. Only 14 month to go and Shaun White has already thrown a message to all the snowboard fans and to his competitors, too: ‘I can only expect the unexpected’.
What was also unexpected was the tweet that Shaun White (@Shaun_White) awoke the world with last Tuesday, where there was a video showing him getting a haircut. He was not exactly looking for a new look, he’s done it for a good reason: he’ll donate his hair to Locks of Love, a non-lucrative foundation that gives wicks to kids suffering illnesses.
His long hair has always been with him along the way. In 2004, his successes started being gathered in “The White Album”. Since then, he’s been on several covers, such as Rolling Stones, Sports Illustrated and ESPN. Besides, he’s got his own clothes line and he’s sponsored by Burton.
‘I’ve been thinking carefully about it and I decided to do it as I’ll support a good cause. Someone needs it more than I do’ White said on the GoPro clip, which was launched on Tuesday morning. “I haven’t really told anyone what I’m doing. I’m just gonna do it and let people think about it’.
Shaun White has won an X Games medal 14 times and twice, a gold Olympic medal. We could list many of his awards but today we considered this action to help the little ones remarkable.
