X Games Film, Music & Style
We had already announced that X Games Aspen will be the event to expand its sports scene to music.
X Games is working with artists, filmmakers and action sports icons to integrate cultural elements in the four days of top sporting action which will take place in the X Games. It is at X Games Aspen 2013 when this brand will be relaunched expanding to new areas, such as the X Games Barcelona.
X Games: FILM
A few days before the Sundance Film Festival, we’ll have the premiere "The Reel Crash": the amazing story of unforgettable the athlete Kevin Pearce. This film narrates the epic rivalry between Kevin and Shaun White, culminating in an accident that changes his life. The film is directed by Oscar nominee Lucy Walker. All the lucky ones who are in Aspen, we’ll have the chance to enjoy the film on Wednesday the 23rd of January at 8.15 pm at The Wheeler Opera House.
On Saturday the 26th of January at 9.15 pm, at the same place, you can also see "Quatro", a story for Green Day fans, which shows several spontaneous performances in different cities across the U.S. This film is directed by Tim Wheeler and produced by Tim Lynch.
X Games: MUSIC
X Games has always come along with great music, but now it goes even further and is going to perform a series of concerts to show the best talent of the five countries hosting this year's X Games ( the U.S., France , Brazil, Spain and Germany). X Games Aspen debut with this initiative and the headliners are Calvin Harris and Major Lazer. These performances will be broadcasted on the web streaming of X Games for those who are unable to attend Aspen.
Others to perform will be Bloc Party and Tyler the Creator.
X Games: STYLE
In order to complete the expansion in X Games Aspen there will also be parades that will show the close relationship between lifestyle and action sports turned into fashion. Some of the brands that present their collections and are pretty well-known, but others represent the increasing trends between lifestyle and sport.
These parades will be previous to the X Games films: FILM and at the same place.
