First Global X Games sponsors

Besides the global sponsors, Aspen X Games have gained the support of several companies that participate locally.


Up X Games in Aspen are kicking off this week and ESPN announced it has got four global sponsors to participate in the expansion of the global entity, including a schedule of six events in 2013. GoPro, Red Bull, Jeep and Ford will be at all events of the X Games in Aspen (Colorado), Tignes, (France), Foz do Iguaçu (Brazil), Munich (Germany), Barcelona (Spain) and Los Angeles, (California). Jeep and Ford share the automotive category; while Jeep presents events in winter, Ford will do it in summer. Also, the Navy (Navy) will partner U.S. X Games in the States.

Besides the global sponsors, Aspen X Games have gained the support of several companies that participate locally. This includes Office Depot, The North Face, Repreve, Loctite, OtterBox, Yoplait and Monster Cable.

The solid sponsorship activation requires global commitments with sponsors which mean: rights to all logos and brands of the official X Games events and ownership in prominent locations in all cultural elements of the X Games. Global partners will be at all events, including the generous participation through posters in tracks and events, as well as on tickets and VIP hospitality experiences at headquarters. Similarly, global sponsors will be incorporated into comprehensive plans that X Games media will run on the entities television, digital, print and broadcast ESPN.

In the X Games in Aspen, Jeep is the main sponsor of the track Slopestyle, which will give two Jeep vehicles. Red Bull will fuse within several brands at headquarters, including exclusive brands in the tracks, photo booths and the autographic athletes’ sessions. In addition to event ownership of the best acrobatic "GoPro Snowmobile Best Trick" GoPro, cameras will provide spectators with some preview tracks that will show them the tracks through outlets such equipment. The U.S. Navy will present challenges such as fixed chin ups and the winners will be awarded with a new snowboard. Additionally they will activate social media related to the event "Snowboard Big Air" on the Marina. Repreve, which is proud of promoting recycling in the games, provides recycling stations throughout the venue and Office Depot Company will set an interactive room under its brand to viewers.

The televised Aspen X Games athletes will also include vignettes of athletes associated with Red Bull and The North Face and bits of the segments produced by the athletes for GoPro.

ESPN will promote the X Games Aspen 2013 from the 24th to the 27th of January and will concentrate all the action on Buttermilk Mountain for the 12th consecutive year. Celebrating 17 years of the winter version of the X Games, the competition is concentrating more than 200 athletes competing for medals and cash in ski, snowboard and snowmobile. ESPN and ABC will work together to televise 20 hours of high definition live competition at the X Games in Aspen. Also, the leader global action sports channel will submit all the activity of the X Games on ESPN 3D.
