The RallyCross also will be in Barcelona (Part II)

Drives like the nine times WRC Champion, Sébastien Loeb, or the legend Dave Mirra, are some of the names that met last year in California

If we check out the international scene of rally, we can see that one of the names is shining. The french driver, Sebastien Loeb won consecutiveey during nine years de the WRC. With this superiority, the European decided test other modalities. Thus, between 2005 and 2006, he was going to the 24 hours of Le Mans. The annual meeting of the Race of Champions, in which meet the best riders of motorcycles and cars, also took three editions to the pocket. And the last adventure of the French was the last year in his debut in the X Games with the RallyCross. His friend Pastrana threw the challenge and, with the spirit of champion, he agreed. And what happened? He won without problems and he beat to drivers with experience in this specialty as Ken Block and Brian Deegan.

There is another name in the world of RallyCross and it will be famous for the followers of the X Games: Dave Mirra. He is an athlete who is closely linked to the world of the X Games but not precisely with the four wheels. He was the boss of the the BMX. The american rider was the best of this discipline since 1995 until 2009, and he won 23 medals on the modalities of Vert and BMX Park. Now, he is concentrated in his new discipline, the RallyCross. Although he can not get a medal in the X Games with his Subaru, he was so close of the metal in the 2011 edition where he was the fourth.

On the other hand, the driver from New Zeland, Rhys Millen will compete in X Games for the third time in RallyCross discipline. Before that, he was an off-road racer and became the first stunt driver to back-flip this vehicle in the air. However, it is in RallyCross where the Hyundai driver has achieved the greatest success, attaining a third place in the Global RallyCross Championship in 2011 and a respectable fifth position in XG the same year. In his last participation last year in Los Angeles, Millen finished fourth.

With the europeans drivers, Liam Doran is one of the best. He started his career when he was 14 years old and his family already had tradition in this extreme sport. His father, Pat Doran, is a British Champion and his family owns Lydden Hill Circuit,- where the first rallycross event was held in the 1960s. His sister Amy is a track manager and organizer of the UK rallycross series. After competing in amateur championships, the Citroën driver took part in XG 17 as the underdog to drivers such as Ken Block or Travis Patsrana. However, the event resulted in a worthy Gold Medal in X Games Rally in which Liam went head-to-head with former WRC Champion Marcus Gronholm. As a Gold Medalist, Doran was automatically regarded as a top athlete amongst some of the best drivers in the world and is a medal contender at his first X Games.

If we continue with the Europeans, another name to rememeber is the young Finn Toomas Heikkinen. Some experts have seen him as the future replacement for Loeb.. At the momento, with only 21 years, he wants to keep learning and not have a big ambitious objectives. Last year, he went to the X Games in Los Angeles but he did not find luck. He had an accident and now he is fully recovered.

So, the world of four-wheel motor, as we have seen, it has a big worldwide figures and it will have a very important space in the X Games Barcelona. Do you want to live it?
