Laia Sanz says yes to Brazil

The Catalan, the only femenine national athlete in the Brazilian event, has recovered from her injury and will make her debut in X Games the next April 18, in Foz de Iguaçu

The main Spanish riders keep receiving invitations to compete in Foz de Iguaçu, in Brazil. If we already announced the incorporations of Edgar Torronteras and Alfredo Gómez last week, now it’s time for the Catalan rider Laia Sanz.

With an enviable track record, it is not surprising that the Catalan has been invited to X Games in Brazil, which will make her be the only Spanish girl to go to this event. It should be noted that this event in Foz de Iguaçu will be her first appearance in such a huge event of extreme sports. Sanz’s extensive experience and her success in different modalities portend the Catalan can achieve good results in Foz de Iguaçu and dispute medals with some of the best riders of the Enduro world. Facing her will be, among others, the current champion of X Games 2012, Maria Forsberg, or Chantelle Bykerk, who took bronze in the northamerican event.

Laia Sanz shows off for being a premature athlete who early became one of the most talented riders in trial at a world level. The King of the Desert, the nickname for which everyone knows her, has achieved great success available to a very few: 13 Trial World Championships, 10 European Championships, 1 Enduro World Championship and 3 Rally Dakar (2011-2013).

Despite having a very compact schedule, in which championships get covered up, it’s been a long time since the rider has been thinking of this event and preparing it with loving care. With her recovery from her elbow injury, Sanz has got on with it to get ready in the best conditions for the Brazilian event. “ For the first time I have the chance to go to X Games and I’m really happy! I really look forward to next week”, said the rider in her Twitter official account. From X Games we wish you the best!
