“Flying with a bicycle is incredible”

Sergio Layos has the unique opportunity to compete in this X Games that take place near his hometown, and explains that the key for success is to enjoy what you do and not throw in the towel

This BMX rider that was born in Madrid has the occasion to get revenge and return to the X Games after missing the X Games Los Angeles when he got injured. Sergio Layos has the quality to find his best trick in the right moment. The 27 year old Spaniard thinks that it’s important to have a different point of view when he approaches this event. “A lot of people introduce their normal skate park tricks to the bowl, maybe this isn’t the way how things should be done on the bowl”.

“Excitement and passion” will be present in Layos performance in the X Games Barcelona. He has worked very hard during all his life and that’s why he wants to send a message for the future riders. “If you really like what you do, you will get where you want. Slowly with good pace, without setting very high goals so you don’t get frustrated”. His role model in the BMX world has always been Rubén Alcantara, he admires his talent and mindset. “Rubén has always done what he most likes, always doing things that he enjoys and not things that he has to do in order to keep riding”.

He wants to continue working in the BMX world after he retires. It’s a sport that Sergio Layos considers unique. “In some championships I ride with a friend because I prefer riding with him. This is something you don’t see in other sports”. From May 16 to May 19, he will have the opportunity to show his skills in the X Games Barcelona.
