The new era of the BMX has riders as Garret Reynolds, Chad Kerley, Dennis Enarson or Jamie Bestwick

If in the last article we talked about the great legends of the BMX like Bob Haro, Dave Mirra and Matt Hoffman, this time we will know more abour the 'new era'. They are the present and the future of this discipline that we can see the 16th of may in Barcelona and in four different modalities.

Undoubtedly one of the leaders of this group is Garret Reynolds who, at just 22 years old, is the master of the Street mode. The american has won the gold in the five previous editions of this discipline with its paranormal ability on his bike, being able to do impossible tricks. In fact, Reynolds is the point of attention as their mates and the try to repeat the tricks that invent this prodigy. Despite its, the great quality and future in the BMX, Reynolds lives with humility and sees it as a different way to surround himself with his friends.

A rider that appears ready to snatch the scepter of champion is Chad Kerley. With 19 years, he was one of the revelations of the latest edition of X Games, staying at the gates of the gold medal, after completing a fantastic manga. His jumpt to the elite of the BMX came in October 2011 when, through his video 'The Hunt', began to be known in worldwide. His manual tricks are the best quality and he won the gold medal at X Games in Asia 2012.

If Reynolds has emerged as the king of the Street, Jamie Bestwick is the leader of the Vert with nine gold medals, six of them consecutively in the last six editions. Considered to be the best in the history of the Vert, he has a supreme style and he can flow with impossible combinations like 'No Angel'. Another of the 'veterans' of the place is the Australian Steve McCann, Big Air gold in the last edition, two years ago was able to get on the podium twice in both Vert and in Mono Skier, winning the gold medal in this discipline. One of his best tricks is the '900 no hander'.

Another grear rider is Dennis Enarson. This athlete of 22 years, forged in the prolific quarries of San Diego, won the silver medal in the Park last year in Los Angeles. A rider which a big ability to adapt to both the Park and the Dirt and as he has been shown, all that has been proposed has succeeded. What is his new goal? Gold.

We keep reminding some of these best riders competing in X Games soon. Dakota Roche is a young rider that has an aggressive style. He often over exaggerates his tricks giving them extra extension, height and motion in general. A powerful and versatile rider, Roche can get technical with grind combos or float huge 180’s, 360’s and 540’s over a rail o stairset. He has already owns a catalog of respected video parts and has another on the way called 'Talk is cheap'.

Simon Tabron is another proper noun of BMX riders. When he was a little boy, he dreamed of becoming a professional stuntman. After turning pro in 1990, Tabron brought his talent to the US and has established himself amongst his peers, winning three consecutive Vert World Championships (2002-04). Since then, has added a more than a few awards to his trophy case, including Gravity Games gold in 2002 and up to nine X Games medals, the last one in X Games 2012, taking bronze in Vert. Tabron brings killer style to a long list of 540 variations and is incredibly consistent with one of the toughest tricks in vert, the 900.

One of the best skilled riders and to dial in advanced technical tricks with amazing precision is Daniel Dhers. Dominating Park competition from 2006 to 2008, the Venezuelan amassed three Dew Tour titles and three X Games medals (two of them gold) and earned a fourth X Games gold in 2011. Due to a fall in the fourth run in X Games 2012, he had to abandon the competition and could not take his fifth gold in BMX Park.

The truth is that we let many names in the pipeline, such as the Italian Simone Barroco, step by step is finding a niche in the world of BMX dominated by Americans, or Austin Coleman, a rider who, despite having been injured for a long time, aims to recover his best style this season.
